I had a call yesterday from a gentleman from Southern California that came down (to Berkeley) for his Dad’s funeral and brought his Air Stream trailer so there would be extra accommodations. As he was leaving his parents property, he caught the Spare tire mounted under the tongue of the trailer and somehow ripped the coupler off of the ball. Bay Area Air Stream in Cordelia recommended he call me for the replacement of the coupler. They also didn’t have one in stock. I suggested he pick one up from

Harbor Freight (believe it or now) because these are the exact same couplers sold by everyone else. I cut and removed all remnants of the old coupler, prepped the “A” frame and welded the new one on. He loaded up and took-off for home.. Yet another crisis averted.

It’s super awesome and rewarding doing what I do. It’s still like magic to me.

Mobile Welding On Tesla Super Charger

 

Last year, because of COVID, Potential Electrical Design Services decided to cancel one of the Tesla Super Charger stations in the Vacaville Factory Stores. They had to cut some of the mounting tabs off in order to install them and couldn’t return the modules with them missing. So I made them like new again.

Welding Truck Body Tour

Don Crossley of Croz Custom Metal Fabrication Inc., was kind enough to give us a tour of his awesome welding rig. This is a Ford F450 Super Cab chassis with all the toys, transferred his existing welding body so that he could have the capacity he needed. He got everything he wanted except he didn't much like the way the truck rode. So he took it to Kelderman and they installed a 4-link air suspension system and Don not only gets a great ride but some added benefits that are really helpful. Check out this walkaround of his truck.

Replacing Spring Hanger Brackets at North Bay Truck Center

 I was called out to North Bay Truck Center to remove the broken and worn-out Leaf spring hanger brackets and weld on new ones. I Carbon Arced off the old ones, prepped the frame, fit the new brackets and welded them on.

Croz Transfers a Tank Sending Unit to Doner Tank at North Bay Truck Center

North Bay Truck Center called me out to remove the fuel tank sending unit from a damaged tank, to a Doner tank that does not have a sending unit.

After roughly cutting out the existing Bung, and laying out the placement the position onto the doner tank, I removed the Bung from the excess material and welded it to the doner tank.

Welding 30 Beam Support Buckets - Croz Custom Metal Fabrication

 

I got a call to help out a contractor catch up a little. These are buckets that support the beams, that hold up the awnings above the dugouts of the two new baseball diamonds being installed at Fairfield High School. I completed 30 of these today.
